Michael Beckerman, skvělý muzikolog (dr.h.c. UP 2014, dr.h.c. MU 2023, nyni dekan UCLA), měl v Praze na NYU přednášku Czechness as Hologram at home and Abroad, kterou zakončil slovy:
„The end! Or so I thought. But I’m just back from Olomouc where we had the international Suk conference. After a string quartet played Suk’s Meditations on an Old Czech Chorale, Svaty Vaclave, there was a performance of the CAMPANELLA Children’s Choir. They had been beautifully rehearsed and everything from the intonation to the energy was just about perfect. The purity of those children’s voices was as silver, and the acoustics in the Corpus Christi Chapel of Palacky University were exquisite. We heard Jan Novak’s glorious Gloria, some Moravian Duets of Dvorak, two songs by Suk, and the Martinu’s Ceska rikadla. I felt something odd when they sang Martinu’s Zavírání lesa, and it kept going through Morena Morena, and by the time they got to Vynášení smrti, I could deny it no longer. „Here lies Czechness in music, so palpable that you can even measure it.“
